A small town about fifty miles from Dallas, Corsicana, Texas, was Dee Dee’s birthplace in 1950. Born Adalia Kamp, she became Dee Dee, which made her nickname her lifetime preference. Her parents raised her with high hopes and dreams. Church provided a social environment, but Mom taught her about godly expectations. She defined her own ambitions and never hesitated to put in the hard work needed to achieve them.
She developed fortitude through two marriages, owning a design center, and fostering impressive professional capabilities. With a fulfilling career at AT&T, spanning twenty-two years, she realized her dream of working in the aviation department and dispatching company jets. Dee Dee became a Christian author after retirement.
The birth of her son, Andy, was the pinnacle of her achievements. She learned through almost losing her son that she needed God above anyone or anything. Dee Dee learned how to pray, how to create an authentic relationship with God, how to believe in healing, and how to rely on God’s timing.
She answered the call from her Lord to write her first book, “My Shattered Life,” to give hope to others during their trials and tribulations. This was her true testimony of faith and boldness.
Dee Dee and Andy now enjoy a grateful life in Granbury, Texas, attending the Heights Church with many wonderful, dedicated prayer warriors and friends. She continues to write with joy in her heart.
